Owner Identity

Markus Habermehl

Trained metalworker and bank clerk. Former NATO soldier, father, hunter, and beekeeper. Career spanning industrial manufacturing, IT project management, financial education, and artificial intelligence across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

ESTJ German / English AI Comfort: 10/10

Origin Story

After years of building digital businesses, podcasting to 135+ countries, and training 12,000+ people on AI, Markus felt his "head was full, but his heart was empty." He returned to working with his hands. Beekeeping became the counterweight to his digital life: a calling to protect local nature. He keeps Carnica bees in wooden hives at his apiary in Altenstadt and captures swarms for free within 30-90 minutes.

Mission

Protect local honeybee populations in the Swabia corridor by catching every reachable swarm and giving it a proper home. Educate the public about the difference between bees, wasps, and hornets, and why swarms are not dangerous.

Vision

Become the first name people in the Neu-Ulm / Ulm / Memmingen region think of when they see a bee swarm. Build enough visibility that no swarm in the service area goes uncaptured because the homeowner did not know who to call.

Core Values

1

Service Over Profit

Free, always. No exceptions, no hidden fees, no upsells.

2

Speed Matters

30-90 min response. 6 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week.

3

Education First

Explains the process to children and bystanders on site.

4

Conservation

No swarm destroyed. Every one gets a new home.

The Swarm Capture Process

1

Report

~5 min

Caller phones or sends a WhatsApp photo with location, size, and height. Markus confirms honeybees vs. other insects.

2

Arrival

30-90 min

Arrives with full protective gear, ventilated swarm box, smoker, collection bag, brush, and ladder.

3

Assessment

~10 min

Evaluate swarm size, queen location, accessibility, and behavior.

4

Capture

15-30 min

Gentle shaking or brushing the cluster into the swarm box. Priority: capture the queen first.

5

Verification

~10 min

Confirm all bees collected, especially the queen. Secure the ventilated box for transport.

6

New Home

Swarm transferred to a prepared wooden hive at the apiary in Altenstadt.

Contrarian Belief

Most people think a bee swarm is an emergency. Markus teaches that a hanging swarm is one of the most peaceful states bees can be in. They have no brood to defend, they are full of honey, and they are focused on finding a new home. The real problem is not danger. It is that 90% of uncaptured swarms will die.
